Germany’s ZARE has highlighted the level of illegal tyre dumping in a revealing incident map.
German Tyre Dumping Scenario Continues
Despite the ongoing campaigns to recycle appropriately, reality shows that a considerable amount of used tyres simply end up fly-tipped. These incidents multiply, especially in the tyre changing season, as people move between winter and summer tyres.
Time and again some “black sheep” of the industry try to dispose of old tyres in large quantities free of charge. They are dumped illegally in rivers or lakes, or deposited in forests or fields. ZARE asks that everyone stops contributing to this problem by disposing of tyres exclusively through the certified waste disposal companies.
