The fourth edition of the BASF Awards recognises SIGNUS for its work in the circular economy
A SIGNUS project in collaboration with Segurvital, together with the projects of Aigües de Mataró, Heineken, Circoolar, Unidad Editorial – Expansión, and Universidad Francisco de Vitoria have been winners in the fourth edition of the BASF Circular Economy Awards in different categories. SIGNUS has been awarded in the SME category. The award ceremony took place at a meeting held on November 10 in Madrid.
SIGNUS, as the winner in the SME category, highlights its collaboration with the project developed with the company Segurvital, which has approved a protection system for motorcyclists that incorporates rubber rollers from tyres with great effectiveness in the tests carried out. SIGNUS has developed and patented a continuous manufacturing system for these rollers through extrusion to help consolidate this application in the market and make a profitable product on the market. The only thing missing is the commitment of local and regional administrations to make it viable.
During the award ceremony, Carles Navarro, General Manager of BASF in Spain and President of the Club for Excellence in Sustainability, recalled that in order to make a more sustainable world, circulating resources is essential. The winning initiatives, as well as the rest of the proposals submitted, will become part of the online library* of good practices in the circular economy in Spain, the largest of these characteristics and promoted by BASF based on its awards. The proposals presented in the first three editions of its awards are already available there.
