Ten years of green strategy have seen over 2.2 million tons of End of Life Tyres treated by Ecopneus
Dossena to Replace Corbetta upon his Retiral
Since its inception 10 years ago, Italy’s Ecopneus has been headed by Giovanni Corbetta. Corbetta has overseen the transformation of the tyre recycling sector in Italy as Ecopneus, the largest of the EPR operators, has cleared some 2.2 million tons of tyres through some 700 thousand collections throughout Italy.
On the 10th anniversary of the creation of the organisation, its long-standing Chief Executive, Giovanni Corbetta has taken his well earned retirement. Corbetta was a keen proponent of tyre recycling and built the strategies and partnerships across Italy to educate both the public and the authorities about the issues surrounding tyre industry.
Corbetta is being replaced by Federico Dossena as Director General at Ecopneus.
Incoming Director General Dossena said; “We will continue to pursue innovation devoting great attention to research and contributing to the development of the culture of sustainability through the activity of information and training, with the aim of maximising profits for the sector… to make a difference and contribute to the circular economy in many sectors, in education, in industry in sport and in the infrastructure.”
Ecopneus will continue to promote the use of recycled rubber in a wide range of applications in Italy.
