Italian bicycle tyres manufacturer Vittoria, has signed an agreement with Haydale for the supply of functionalised graphene for use in its bicycle tyres.
Vittoria and Haydale have co-developed improved rubber compounds using graphene. Both laboratory and field tests show improved tyre performance.
The supply has already started. The future may see Haydale establishing production of graphene close to the Vittoria Group’s factories in Thailand.
Stijn Vriends, Vittoria Group president and CEO said; “We are very pleased to partner with Haydale to further innovate in this field and have a local production of graphene in Thailand as a common goal.”
For Haydale, CEO Keith Broadbent added; “We are excited to be working with Vittoria on their graphene-enhanced cycling tyres, which demonstrates the impact that our HD Plas functionalisation technology can have on the tyre and the wider elastomer market.”
