Five of JK Tyre’s manufacturing locations were recognised with the Zero Waste certification by The British Standards Institution (BSI)
JK Tyre & Industries Gains Zero Waste Certification
The Indian tyre manufacturer JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., has achieved certification for its – Zero Waste to Landfill initiative by The British Standards Institution. This initiative is an extension to achieve and demonstrate JK Tyre’s Environmentally Sustainable Goals and Go green Initiatives in the Tyre Sector.
Under this initiative, the aim is to stop the disposal of waste to landfills or to incineration without energy recovery – it is either totally eliminated at source or recycled off-site.

JKTIL has developed a robust Integrated Waste Management plan for all types of rubber wastes in a controlled and transparent way. It also developed an Audit system for contracts with recyclers. The IWMP also includes used oil, e-waste, etc. in its five plant locations.
The British Standards Institution (BSI), has audited 5 manufacturing locations in Rajasthan, Chennai, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttrakhand. During the course of the audit, it confirmed that no waste, either solid or liquid was disposed to landfill and recommended JKTIL’s five manufacturing locations as Zero Waste to Landfill Plants
